Self-Introduction

Kana EGUCHI (IEEE M’17–SM’21) is a senior lecturer at the Human Systems Laboratory, Human Machine Symbiosis Laboratories, Systems Science Course, Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University.

She received her B.E. degree from the Kyoto Institute of Technology, Kyoto, Japan, in 2010, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in informatics from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 2012 and 2020, respectively.

She was appointed to her current position in April 2024. Before this, she was a Program-Specific Assistant Professor at the Department of Real World Data R&D, the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, from July 2022 to March 2024.  Before starting her academic research career, she had approximately 10 years of work experience as a company researcher at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation, Tokyo, Japan.

Her current research interests include medical engineering (ME), biosignal processing, wearable sensing systems, medical informatics (MI), and human-computer interaction (HCI).
